attended a volunteer fair at the University of the Incarnate Word on October 28,
2009.
Spina Bifida Stroll & Roll -
October 2009
The Spina Bifida Stroll and Roll took place on October 10, 2009
on Bandera Road. We were there to help by cutting up the fruit for the
event.
Low Vision Expo -
March 2009
The 2009 Annual Low Vision Expo was held on Saturday, March 14,
2009 in the gymnasium at Colonial Hills United Methodist Church on Vance
Jackson.
White Cane Day Walk/Run -
October
2008
The annual White Cane Day Walk/Run took place at Comanche Lookout
Park on October 11, 2008 in honor of National White Cane
Safety Day.
Community Health Fair -
July
2008
Our own Cynthia Garcia and Elia Pardo participated in a Community
Health Fair at Church of Christ at West Laurel on July 12, 2008 to spread the
news about The Low Vision Club and Owl Radio.
Diabetes Association Tour de Cure - May
2008
Low Vision Resource Center volunteers manned the Family Fun
Water/Food Station at the Diabetes Association Tour de Cure Event on May 17,
2008. Our theme for our water station was Retro Hippie Movement!
UTSA Health Fair - March
2008
The “Spring Break Survivor: Caribbean Health Fair” took place on
March 12, 2008 at UTSA. The Low Vision Club's Cynthia Garcia and Elia
Pardo were there representing us at our booth.
Christmas Party - December 2007
Our annual holiday luncheon was held at the UTHSC Allied Health Building. A traditional Christmas dinner was served and we enjoyed a visit from Santa and entertainment.

August 2007
Organized by Dana Schilling and her special events committee,
club members had their chance to perform in the annual talent show.
10th Anniversary Gala - January 2007
Low Vision Club's 10th and Owl Radio's fifth anniversary
"mini-gala" at Pearl Stable Reception Center. County Judge Nelson Wolff
spoke.
Annual Organizational
Meeting - January 2006
Our first meeting of 2006 was the annual organizational meeting. Members
met our new Board of Directors and our new Advisory Council.
Owl Radio Third
Anniversary - March 2005
The third anniversary of Owl Radio was celebrated with a "Celebrity Read."
Local San Antonio air personalities were invited to read portions of the San
Antonio Express-News.
Visit by Dr. Mogk -
February 2005
Dr. Lylas Mogk was in San Antonio to speak to our club about macular
degeneration and presented the principles from her book. These are a few pictures taken during her visit on Saturday, February 26, 2005.
Game Day - April 2004
The Low Vision Club Game Day is held once a month. We start gathering at 9:30
a.m. for social time and games are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a break for lunch.

Low Vision Expo - March 2004
The Sixth Annual Low Vision Expo was held on March 6, 2004. It was an
opportunity to see the latest in low vision aids and explore community
resources.
"Envision This" - January 2004
The San Antonio Low Vision Club and the San Antonio Public
Library provided information and demonstrations of low vision resources and
equipment at this information event at the downtown library on January 24, 2004.
Christmas Party - December
2003
The club’s annual Christmas luncheon with special entertainment
and traditional Christmas goodies was held on Saturday, December 6, 2003.
